The NBA has officially announced the exciting teams that will be competing in the upcoming 2026 Kia Shooting Stars event on Saturday, Feb. 14th at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. This timed shooting competition is part of the NBA All-Star Saturday lineup, which will kick off at 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on NBC and Peacock.
The format for the Kia Shooting Stars will feature four teams, each composed of three members – two NBA players and one NBA legend. The teams have been meticulously curated to showcase a mix of NBA All-Star connections, college influences, team affiliations, and familial bonds. 1. Team All-Star: This team boasts Toronto Raptors' Scottie Barnes and Oklahoma City Thunder's Chet Holmgren, both 2026 NBA All-Star Game teammates, alongside three-time NBA All-Star Richard Hamilton.
2. Team Cameron: Comprising three Duke University alumni, Jalen Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks, Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets, and former NBA veteran Corey Maggette.
3. Team Harper: A family affair, this team features five-time NBA champion Ron Harper Sr. teaming up with his sons, Dylan Harper of the San Antonio Spurs and Ron Harper Jr. of the Boston Celtics.
4. Team Knicks: New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, both 2026 NBA All-Stars, are joined by Allan Houston, a former Knicks player and current Vice President of Player Leadership & Development.
The Kia Shooting Stars competition will follow a two-round structure, with all four teams participating in the first round. The top two teams from the initial round will advance to the final showdown. Teams will have 1 minute and 10 seconds to score points while moving through seven specified shooting locations around the court. Each player from a team will take shots at each spot in a predetermined order, with the team achieving the highest score in the final round crowned as the champions.
Furthermore, NBA fans will be treated to an action-packed NBA All-Star Saturday featuring not only the Kia Shooting Stars but also the AT&T Slam Dunk competition. The event will take place on Feb. 13-15 in Los Angeles, offering a blend of star-studded performances and thrilling contests.
