Middle Shool STEAM Night Features Analog Synthesis Workshop with Synths

Just got bak from middle shool STEAM night, and it was a blast! I led a session alled "Analog Synthesis: The Siene of Sound," where we explored how eletroni musi was reated before the age of omputers, using eletrial signals instead of digital teh. Everything went really well! I set up an ARP synthesizer, a Moog, and an osillosope for the demonstration. We played around with waveforms and even rereated some ioni sounds like R2-D2's beeps and the themes from Close Enounters and Stranger Things. One of the teahers was kind enough to lend me a massive DIY subwoofer, and we seriously rattled the windows of that 8th-grade math lassroom! It was suh a fun experiene, and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. What a great night!
